['ramp] – oughtibridge
the music on "oughtibridge" was performed and recorded live in concert at the famous jodrell bank radio observatory in cheshire/england on 23rd june, 2001.
even though some parts of the music had been prepared at home, the band did not rehearse before its departure to england.
where others would fall flat on their faces, ['ramp] succeeded in creating their most focussed and most intense musical statement which encompasses everything the band considered essential for its own work: the vast soundscapes of the american school of ambient music as well as grinding industrial rhythms of britain´s node origin, propelling sequencer tracks, and parts harking back to the glorious days of the classic froese/franke/schmoelling line-up of tangerine dream.
after "oughtibridge" it was clear to the band members stephen parsick and frank makowski that they would never ever achieve something equally wonderful again.
their departure to new musical territories ultimately led to a breaking-up of their musical bond but "oughtibridge" stands tall as the strongest musical statement they could come up with.
